This Dead Mothers Day gathering is a sacred space where we honour our mothers through gentle ritual, the healing power of a gong bath, guided rest, and the nurturing energy of community.
what to expect
Set intentions, clear energy, honour your mother, and connect deeply with yourself and others through the healing power of sound.

When you arrive, you will be greeted by your host, Megan. After everyone has settled in, we’ll begin the evening with gentle rituals to honour our mothers, creating a sacred space for connection and personal reflection.

Wendy will then guide you through her gong bath and yoga nidra session, offering deep relaxation and healing through sound vibrations and guided rest. As the gong’s powerful sound frequencies move through the body, they will help release stress, calm the nervous system, and invite a sense of peace and grounding.

During the session, you may experience a range of sensations from deep relaxation to energetic shifts, as your body and mind soften and release.
The evening will close with a moment of integration, allowing you time to reflect on your experience, followed by tea and community connection.

Please bring a yoga mat, blankets, bolsters, pillows, eye masks, or anything else that helps you feel held and supported during the gong bath.
Meet your hosts

Megan
Megan is a Hospice volunteer and Death Doula with a deep commitment to bringing more honesty and openness to the realities of death and dying. She believes these conversations deserve space, without fear, shame, or avoidance. She’s passionate about creating community. In a world that often isolates grief, Megan understands the power of being witnessed, and of witnessing others. Her work is rooted in the belief that healing happens together. Megan has hosted grief circles, full moon gatherings, and women’s circles, all designed to offer sacred space for reflection, rest, and reconnection. Her gift is creating space with intention and care, allowing people to show up exactly as they are.

Wendy
Wendy is a Registered Yoga Teacher, Hanna Somatic Movement Coach, Breathwork Facilitator, Reiki Energy Healer, and Gong Sound Practitioner. She is also a hospice volunteer trained in trauma-informed grief support. She believes in the healing power of community and feels grateful to live, work, and connect with fellow healers, teachers, and creatives in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. When she’s not holding space for others, you’ll find her camping with her husband, hiking, gardening, dancing, exploring secret swimming spots, and deepening her connection with nature. Wendy is a lifelong learner, always curious, and always growing. She looks forward to meeting you along the path.
Why This Gathering Exists
A tantric fire ceremony is a gathering performed in a secret outdoor location where we sit, chant, and give offerings to a sacred bonfire.
In tantric philosophy, fire represents transformation, death, & rebirth. The offerings given to the fire are symbolic of your gratitude, unloading of your burdens, and manifestation of your desires.
Co-host, Nicole Berns, has been initiated to guide tantric fire ceremonies by her teacher, Ram Giri Baba. She will tend to the fire, signal when and how to give offerings, and guide you through the chanting. Everyone will be provided with a mantra sheet so that they can read and chant along.
Tantric fire ceremonies are generally performed outside at dawn or dusk, during the transition from light to dark, and last between 45-60 minutes.
